Get Set,
The GET SET, phase is the first phase of the exercise and health trajectory.
Your profile = You have a little or no experience with sport and you haven't felt that sport and physical exercise can influence your health in a positive way.
The focus = The focus in this phase is on your Health.
 
You can find the activities organised specially for students in the GET SET phase in the section below.
 

Healthcheck

Every 15 minutes a portrait of your heart is made with a Cardioscan apparatus that will analyse your physical shape and that gives advice on how you should exercise to maintain or approve your life quality. This test is painless and normally costs €39. You can make an appointment at the service for Exercise & Sport (dienst Sport & Beweging) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) on campus Etterbeek. This is possible by telephone, 02/269.23.11, or by e-mail, sportdienst@vub.ac.be.
 
 
 

Walk along with "YorBody"

Are you the type that's always very busy? No time to deliberately go out for sport? You shuttle back and forth to your school/job? Maybe YorBody is the perfect solution for you to work on your physical condition without being bound to a sports group or fitness club. YorBody is an online coach that registers al your steps and movements with the of a YorBodyGuard (or a movement meter). Once a week you link your YorBodyGuard to the computer to get a  personal online report of your results and goals, including food advice, sport tips and lots more. The Exercise and Sports service (dienst Sport & Beweging) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel will gladly give you more information via 02/629.23.11 or sportdienst@vub.ac.be

 

Start to Sport series

Those who realise that exercise and sport can improve your life quality, but haven't found out yet what kind of exercises suit them best, can try some of the Start to Sport series organised by Students Sport Brussels (Studentensport Brussel). These programmes are easily accessible for everybody. Your personal trainer makes sure that you execute the exercises correctly, preventing you from any injuries. And of course, he/she motivates you in difficult times.
